One of my favorite films of all-time, Jason & the Argonauts, was released on this day–in 1963. Featuring the superb stop-motion work of my cinematic hero, Ray Harryhausen, it is a feast for the eyes.

It’s also Willis O’Brien’s birthday (who created the marvelous stop-motion effects for the film). He was born in 1886.

The series starred Adam West as Batman &┬áBurt Ward as Robin. It also starred a rotating collection of memorable villains–including Yvonne Craig as Batgirl, Cesar Romero as The Joker, and Julie Newmar/Eartha Kitt as Catwoman.
